The Need

BYU[1]Brigham Young University needed multiple AV solutions for their college campus. Various buildings were in need of upgrades for projectors, control systems and switches. BYU needed solutions to fully communicate and integrate their entire campus allowing students better access to announcements, information, presentations and lectures. At the same time giving Professors and Faculty the tools to deliver learning content and materials. They needed solutions for Digital Signage, Projectors, Video Conferencing and Lecture Capture and Streaming.

The Solution and Outcome

We supply BYU’s Classroom Upgrade every year, for the last 3 years, moving to Full High Definition projectors. This project includes 120 rooms per year including Consultation services for and supplying  Crestron Control Systems, Amplifiers and Switches as well as the Panasonic PT-EZ570 and PT-EZ770 Projectors, projectors that produce brightness up to 5,000 and 6,500 lumens respectively. The iris automatically adjusts itself to match the situation, resulting in a high contrast ratio of 5,000:1 and the picture is amazing. This offered a versatile solution for the BYU lecture rooms. We also implemented Haivision Calypso Recording System. Calypso is a powerful and scalable media recording, management and distribution platform designed to capture and share video content in real-time for mission-critical decision making and post-event contextual review. Calypso is installed in corporate, medical, education, government and military environments for situational awareness, training and research. We also supplied throughout campus:

  • CoolSign Digital Signage campus wide
  • Vidyo Video conferencing campus wide.
